Adhesive Mounting Bases

We have talked a lot about cable ties and uses for them, but we rarely talk about some of the accessories and their uses. I talked about the Molded Cable Clamps for use with the rope lights, but at Nelco Products, we carry more. We carry:

Halloween is fast approaching and with that starts the Holiday Season for sales and with that, decorations. The adhesive mounting bases are a great way to hang holiday decorations, especially those that use wires to hang. For instance, the lights around the house, you can use the miniature cable tie along with the adhesive mount and you have a great solution for hanging lights in a more “permanent” solution than the hooks you can buy. This way, if a strong breeze comes along, half your lights will not fall down. These mounts are good in areas whose temperature is normally between -20°F and 120°F (-29°C to 49°C).

Another use is for hanging a decoration on the front door. By using an adhesive mounting base, you do not have hammer in a nail leaving a hole in the door, for rain to get into, and you can tightly mount the decoration to the door with a cable tie.

Of course, you have the standard use for the mounts, to hold bundles of cables securely to where they are placed. The adhesive sticks to many surfaces so no matter where you want stick these, as long as the surface is clean these mounts should stick to the surface. Many people use these in their homes to secure cables to the wall or base board ensuring an organized bundle.

To install:

  1. Ensure the surface you are adhering the mount to is clean.
    • To clean, user isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol).
    • Dry surface using non-lint rag
  2. Remove the release liner. Note: Be careful not to touch the adhesive.
  3. Press, using your thumb, on the mount for at least 5 full seconds before lifting
  4. Allow the mount to sit a while before using.
